Final Goal Reflections

1. I want to learn about effective ways to teach with technology in the classroom. This goal is aligned to ISTE Standard for Educators Learner 1C because the standard asks the teacher to stay up to date with research for student learning. I interpret this to mean technology and research through technology.

Now: I believe that I have learned many effective ways to teach with technology. From using websites like Quizziz and piktochart to coding and robots, I have learned that using technology to teach a concept can make the class more enjoyable and teach students new ways to use technology. I now have a list of concepts that I can teach using blended lessons, hyperdocs, and face to face lessons and I now know why each of those is important and how they can help the students learn in various ways.

2. I want to have some fun and new ideas that I can use for my students. This goal is aligned to ISTE Standard for Educators Designer because all three sub-standards ask us to create new experiences for the students. I believe that students have seen the same things with technology use, so I want to change that. I want to make things fun and exciting for my students and I think that a great way to do that is to have some fun, new ideas that I can use to help my students.

Now: I believe that I have achieved this goal. We have explored many new and fun ways to use technology like robots and coding as well as fun projects and websites. I now have a list of fun activities for concepts and what websites or technology is needed for those concepts.

3. I want to use technology effectively in my own life so that I can be a good example for my students. This goal is aligned to ISTE Standard for Educators Leader 2A because it asks the teacher to share and be an example to the students. Being an example to your students helps "empower" them and their use of technology.

Now: I believe that I have achieved this goal. I have created a class website where I can put all the information for the class, I have learned how to use copyright effectively and how to use things like canvas so I can better help my students succeed. I have also learned about privacy policies and the importance of digital safety and now I will be able to transfer that knowledge to my students.

One educational technology goal for the future and my plan:
A goal that I have for the future is to continue to practice using videos and screen grabs. I think that those are very useful tools that can help students learn and understand the concepts that I will be teaching in class. My plan to achieve this goal is to practice making videos and screen grabs and take every opportunity to make a screen grab for differentiation and for tutorials on projects and new concepts.
